This Labor Day weekend, beat the heat and enjoy an afternoon of inspiration, creativity, arts, and community at this all-ages celebratory event featuring original art by local seniors, spicy snacks and tasty sips, and community arts activities.

  • 6p to 7p: Create your own Texas-themed souvenir painting featuring a Texas Longhorn in a live step-by-step painting session along with other attendees! All supplies included, and you’ll get to take your masterpiece home with you!
  • 7p onwards: Enjoy live music during the evening portion of the event. Mingle, sip and snack, and enjoy the music, as you stroll around to admire inspiring displays of original art.
• Fun Photo Opps and Activities All Day Long!
  • Smile and take a photo with “Joy,” our life-size Texas Longhorn lovingly handpainted by local community members on a 12-foot backdrop with a hill country landscape scene.
  • Enjoy arts activities and contribute to fun community arts projects, including the Citywide Community Tile Mosaic, a project we’ve been curating all summer long with contributions from community members across Austin.
  • Spend some time at the Cards for Seniors table with other community members and work together to craft a few handmade cards for local seniors living in longterm care facilities.
