Beyond Generative AI for Artists
How can you ethically incorporate AI into your art without sacrificing your artistic vision?
In this engaging presentation, artist Kellyn Dassler will discuss and demonstrate opportunities for incorporating AI into art outside of generative AI in more artist-empowering ways. Using examples of her own and other artists’ process and work, she will demonstrate methods of incorporating AI in ways that preserve the artist’s vision, such as using machine learning libraries and more ethically trained AI models to be a collaborator with the artist.

Artists and creatives in all disciplines, especially those currently using AI or interested in using AI for their projects, are welcome and encouraged to attend this engaging talk followed by open dialogue and discussion.

About the Speaker
Kellyn Dassler is an Austin-based creative technologist and artist who makes interactive installation art and visuals that incorporates machine learning and 3D for a creative code experience between the artwork and users. Recently, she has also expanded to making poetry and adapting this into many different algorithmic forms, such as p5 visualizations, interactive pieces, and 3D printed forms. Kellyn is particularly interested in translation and blending physical and digital worlds. She is also very interested in creating tools for artists to incorporate AI into their work.
