Enjoy a multi-sensory, interactive workshop on the performing arts and cultural traditions of the region of South India known as Tulu Nadu. Experience the music and dance traditions of the Tulu people through hands-on demonstrations. Learn about the vibrant festivals and cultural practices from the Tulu region through engaging discussion with a local Tulu artist. And enjoy a sampling of dishes from the region.

About the Artist Presenter:
Sreedevi Jairaj is an artist born and raised in the Tulu Nadu region of Karnataka in Southern India. Now living in Austin along with her husband, Jairaj, who is also from Tulu Nadu, she maintains ties to her cultural roots by imparting Tuluva knowledge and traditions to their two sons and incorporating elements of Tulu culture into her artwork and artistic practices. Sreedevi also teaches Tulu folk music and dance to youth in the Austin area through her community dance ensemble, The Tulu Tribe.
